Brown art professor Rich ard Fishman opened the discussion, explaining that the art world, which used to be centered in Paris in the nineteenth and early twentieth centu ries, shifted to New York City following World War 11. Has it shifted again, this time to Los Angeles? The first title of this symposium was going to be: 'has the Art World Finally Decentralized, Or Is New York Still lt.' Weisman Collection in Los Angeles, told the audience, The Los Angeles art collection started from ground zero a mere thirty or forty years ago.
