Hops are essential for the brewing industry, as they supply considerably to the aroma and quality of beer. This book offers a summary of the EU hop industry in the first decade of the 21st century with aims (1) to give an overview of the EU hop industry production and economic characteristics, (2) to demonstrate organization structures in main exporting EU hop countries, (3) to illustrate the sector s role within the EU common agricultural policy (CAP) and (4) to present its market supply position for the world beer industry.
