Anotace knihy

Incorporating years of experience teaching Greek, the author's 'New Testament Greek Primer' has been received enthusiastically as a beginning Greek grammar. Exercises are included within the text. An appendix of English grammar review, with exercises, helps the student link the two languages. An answer key is followed by indexes that include vocabulary, principal parts, paradigms and subjects. The book presents a clear format, with full indexes and a number of illustrations, including images from the authors personal library, taken during travels in Greece, Turkey and elsewhere. This second edition updates the work, while maintaining the basic presentation and character of the original work, and offers corrections, tweaked discussions and improved exercises. The method is deductive. Grammar and exegesis are the focus. The presentation consists of an early emphasis upon the noun system, then a steady charge through the principal parts of the verb. Moods, infi nitives, participles and MI verbs finish the work. Examples and exercises are taken directly from the Greek New Testament. Syntax is coordinated with Winbery and Brooks's 'Syntax of New Testament Greek'. Gerald L. Stevens is Professor of New Testament and Greek at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
