This book focuses on the social, economic and cultural consequences of the ethnic cleansing and forced resettlements in Europe during and immediately after the Second World War. Bringing together contributors working on various geographical and historical contexts, the book develops a common theoretical and methodological framework for researching transnational postwar phenomena - living in and experiencing the 'No Neighbours' Land' realities. The idea for the book came from the realization that postwar resettlements, property transfers and forced migrations are a pan-European experience, which, however, lack a historiographic conceptualization that goes beyond local specificities.
