La conférence inaugurale Science for Ancient Egyptian Materials and Technologies, qui s’est tenue au Caire en novembre 2017, visait à souligner l’importance des sciences physico-chimiques et des approches interdisciplinaires dans la recherche en égyptologie. Ce volume rassemble des articles de travaux menés dans tous les domaines de l'archéométrie, à la fois sur des objets de musées et sur des fouilles archéologiques. Il livre un aperçu des possibilités renouvelées que cette science offre et ouvre la voie à une généralisation de son application dans la recherche archéologique en Égypte.La conférence inaugurale Science for Ancient Egyptian Materials and Technologiess’est tenue avec succès au Musée du Palais Manial au Caire, du 4 au 6 novembre 2017, inaugurée sous l’égide de son Excellence Pr. Khaled el-Enany. Elle cherchait à offrir aux spécialistes des sciences et techniques appliquées à l’archéologie un lieu de rencontres, de présentation et d’échanges. Surtout, elle visait à souligner l’importance des sciences physico-chimiques et des approches interdisciplinaires dans la recherche en égyptologie. Ce volume rassemble des articles présentant des travaux de haut niveau qui concernent tous les domaines de l’archéométrie, menés à la fois sur des objets de musées et sur des fouilles archéologiques. Il donne un aperçu général des possibilités extraordinaires que cette science offre dans des domaines variés et ouvre la voie à une généralisation de son application dans la recherche archéologique en Égypte.--The inaugural Science for Ancient Egyptian Materials and Technologiesconference was successfully held at the Manial Palace Museum in Cairo, from November 4th–6th 2017, inaugurated under the auspice of His Excellency Pr. Khaled el-Enany. It was aimed at providing the venue of research specialists employing archaeological sciences to meet, present their research and exchange ideas. But above all, its purpose was to emphasis the importance of archaeological sciences and interdisciplinary approaches within Egyptology. This volume gathers papers of high-standard research topics relevant to all the fields of archaeometry, and which were led both on museums objects and on excavation sites. It draws a general overview of the awesome possibilities this science offers to various fields, and widely opens the way to drastically enhance its application in archaeological research in Egypt.
